Privacy policy

This policy covers the personal data you send us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Eduscale Solutions Limited, an Irish company registered with the Companies Registration Office under number 727644. You can reach us at privacy@insulationdublin.ie.

What this site is

Insulation Dublin is a referral service. We do not install insulation. We take your enquiry and pass it to independent contractors registered with SEAI so they can quote for the work. Any contract for work is between you and the contractor.

What we collect, and why

  • What you type into the enquiry form — your name, phone number, area or Eircode, the type of home, the measure you are interested in, and, if you choose to give them, your email address and anything you write in the notes field. We collect this so contractors can quote for your job and contact you about it.
  • Aggregate page statistics — how many people read a page and roughly where they arrived from. Cookie-free, nothing written to your device, and none of it identifies you. See our cookie policy.
  • What you say if you ring us — a recording and a transcript of the call, and the number you called from. An automated assistant answers and tells you both of those things before it asks you anything. We collect it so a contractor can quote for your job. The Calls section below has the detail.

We do not ask for and do not want financial details, PPS numbers, or anything about your health or household circumstances beyond what a contractor needs to quote.

Our legal basis

  • Enquiry details: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in operating a referral service. You are asking to be put in touch with contractors, and that is what we do with it.
  • Aggregate page statistics: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages people read, so we can improve them. Nothing is stored on your device and none of it identifies you. You can object, and the section below says how.

Who we share it with

We pass your enquiry to SEAI-registered contractors who work in your area, so they can quote. We tell you who they are. We do not sell your details, we do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not pass them to anyone who is not quoting for your job.

Contractors receiving your details are independent data controllers in their own right and handle your data under their own privacy policies.

We also use service providers who process data on our behalf — website hosting and email delivery, and, for calls, telephony, speech-to-text, a language model and a synthetic voice. They act on our instructions only.

Recordings and transcripts are held by the telephony provider that carries the call, on our instructions, and are covered by the same rights and the same retention period as everything else on this page.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can deal with any question about a job we referred, and then deleted. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and ask for your data in a portable format. Email privacy@insulationdublin.ie and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, dataprotection.ie.

Calls

If you ring the number on this site, an automated assistant answers. It says so at the start of the call, and it tells you the call is recorded, before it asks you anything.

We record and transcribe the call for one reason: so the enquiry we pass to a contractor is what you actually said, rather than somebody’s notes. The recording and the transcript are kept for the same 24 months as any other enquiry and deleted with it, and you can ask us to delete them sooner.

Before the call ends, the assistant asks whether you are happy for your details to go to SEAI-registered contractors in County Dublin so one of them can ring you with a quote. If you say no, nothing is passed on. Your answer is part of the recording.

If you would rather not speak to an automated assistant, use the enquiry form instead. A person reads those.
